Purposeful Tech Mentorship
Prime Tech is dedicated to empowering youth with access to high-quality education and hands-on training in cutting-edge technology fields. By fostering creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, our 12-week curriculum prepares our participants to become future innovators, entrepreneurs, and leaders in the tech industry.
Program Design & Outcomes
Coding Camps, App Dev, STEM/STEAM Exploration, AI & Machine Learning Basics
Our programs are designed to ignite curiosity, foster creativity, and prepare youth for exciting opportunities in the ever-evolving tech industry. Participants will dive into Coding & App Development, learning programming languages like Python and Java to design and build real-world applications. Through STEM/STEAM Exploration, students will engage in interactive projects such as robotics, 3D printing, and design thinking, encouraging innovation and critical thinking. Additionally, our AI & Machine Learning Basics program introduces students to the future of technology, teaching how AI works, its real-world applications, and even guiding them in building basic AI models.
Python Institute (PCEP): Python Certified Entry-Level Programmer Credential
Participants in our program will graduate with this credential, an industry-recognized certification that demonstrates foundational proficiency in Python programming. Through hands-on training and guided instruction, students will learn core programming concepts, including syntax, data structures, and problem-solving techniques. This credential not only validates their skills but also positions them for advanced learning opportunities and entry-level roles in the tech industry. By earning this certification, participants build their resume and gain a competitive edge, showcasing their readiness to tackle real-world challenges and begin their journey in tech-driven careers.
12-Week Curriculum…
Weeks 1–2: Orientation & Foundations
Program Introduction: Goals, expectations, and overview of technology careers.
STEM/STEAM Basics: Introduction to science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics.
Technology Fundamentals: Overview of coding, AI, and emerging technologies.
Soft Skills Workshop: Teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Weeks 3–4: Coding Fundamentals
Programming Basics: Learn Python syntax, data types, and variables.
Hands-On Practice: Build small programs like calculators or simple games.
Debugging and Problem Solving: Introduction to troubleshooting code errors.
STEM/STEAM Integration: Apply coding to STEM-based challenges.
Weeks 5–6: App Development & Project Work
App Design Basics: Plan and wireframe a basic application.
Interactive Coding: Use Python or Java to create interactive features.
Team Collaboration: Work in groups to design and code a small-scale app.
Project Milestone: Complete the first iteration of the app.
Weeks 7–8: Ai & Machine Learning Basics
Introduction to Ai: Understanding AI, its applications, and ethics.
Machine Learning Fundamentals: Learn about datasets and basic models.
Hands-On Ai Project: Build a simple machine learning model (e.g., number recognition or sentiment analysis).
Discussion: Future implications of AI in careers and daily life.
Weeks 9–11: Career Preparation & Real-World Applications
Career Exploration: Overview of tech roles like software developer, data analyst, and AI engineer.
Resume Building & LinkedIn Workshop: Create or refine resumes and online profiles.
Interview Skills Practice: Mock interviews with feedback.
Guest Speaker Sessions: Hear from tech industry professionals.
Week 12: Certification & Celebration
Python Certification Exam: Prepare for and complete the Python Institute (PCEP) certification exam.
